FAQ
Unweighted GPA treats every course the same — an A is 4.0 regardless of difficulty. Weighted GPA adds a +0.25 bonus for AP and IB courses to reflect their extra rigor, matching how DAA officially reports GPA.
According to DAA's curriculum handbook, only AP and IB (SL and HL) courses receive the 0.25 weighting boost. Honors courses are not weighted differently at Dubai American Academy.

DAA uses a 4.0 base scale: A+/A = 4.0, A− = 3.7, B+ = 3.3, B = 3.0, B− = 2.7, C+ = 2.3, C = 2.0, C− = 1.7, D+ = 1.3, D = 1.0, D− = 0.7, F = 0.0. AP and IB courses add 0.25 to whichever value applies.
